Yewande has worked on some brilliant projects all over the world, with project values of up to £500 million. Using engineering as a tool for creativity, she has developed strategies towards the effective operation of business functions and set clear visions for the development of people within organisations. Her engineering journey continues to be one centred around creativity and creating a better world. The creativity, the daring to dream, the art of story –telling’ of conceptual ideas; achieving an exact expression of sequence, relation and logic is what creates the built environment and technologies that shape and influence our daily experiences.
Yewande’s current suite of ongoing projects range from innovation consulting for large organisations and startups. She is providing services on innovation and supporting her partners as they take ideas through to products/services. She is also providing support with business development. Her projects currently fall under Technology for Good (Well-being); Healthy Ageing Population, Construction Technology & Sustainable Product Development. Yewande's work is enabling meaningful collaboration. Her work brings together diverse perspectives and skills to tackle complex problems and develop creative solutions.
Yewande has curated a Conference designed to strengthen the creativity and innovation in the Engineering & Technology Industry. The Women in Engineering & Technology (The Ripple Effect) Conference has been inspired by efforts to retain the incredible Engineering talent our industry currently enjoys. It has been designed to also equip Women in E&T with tools to navigate the industry and inspire a generation of women who see their place in the industry.
With a packed schedule of keynote speeches, breakout sessions, and networking opportunities, the conference presents an incredible opportunity for true impact.
The BIG Work Experience Week is a Virtual Work Experience Programme designed to equip students in higher education with practical skills to be able to design Sustainable systems for the built environment. It is based on a structure that ensures that students are exposed to Engineering, Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship. It is designed to provide industry context to their learning and challenge thinking. It encourages and supports team building and encourages the students to continue to innovate together after the completion of the programme. It is open to students from all over the world and is FREE of CHARGE
The Inspire Series is an inspirational hour consisting of a 30min episode of a fun, engaging vlog type film. It is then followed by a a panel discussion with the inspirational, award winning Engineers who feature in the film.
'The pilot episode follows the lives of four amazing real life Engineers as they celebrate a beautiful friendship and explore the Engineering around them. Engineering is their strong bond and the reason they get on so well. The episode establishes their base ....and love for the great city of London, as well as their appreciation for the fantastic feats of Engineering in London. In the pilot eposide, they explore the SHARD and experience the tallest building in the United Kingdom in all its glory.
Yewande is committed to inspiring the next generation of engineers and technologists and spends a significant amount of time in schools and colleges speaking to young people. To scale the impact of the engagement and support the incredible work of lots of organisations tasked with securing a pipeline of Engineers to meet the 200,000+ shortfall, she continues to work with teachers, students, employers & organisations to give young people the knowledge and inspiration they need. Yewande is a Visiting Professor at the University of Westminster, and she sits on the Governining Body at the University of Warwick. Yewande supports INNOVATE UK initiatives such as 'no Limits' designed to provide young people with the skills they require.
Yewande sits on the Board of Trustees at the Institution of Engineering and Technology and is serving as Vice-President of the Institution. She chairs the Knowledge Services & Solutions Board at the Institution. Yewande is a member of the Global Advisory Board at Warwick Business School. She has served as the UK’s Innovation agency- Innovate UK ‘s Ambassador for Clean Growth and Infrastructure. She is non-executive director of Midlands Mindforge- a £250million patient capital investment company for university spinouts and other early stage IP rich businesses in the Midlands. Yewande has been appointed to the Board of the biggest Pan African Innovation Enabler, Co-Creation Hub (CcHUB).
