REPOSTED from Isabella Mascarenhas :
Friday was fantastic 🥳 For the fifth year in a row, we welcomed another cohort of exceptional young engineers, our #BrightSparks, to a celebration of THEM at the home of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), Savoy Place. Winners from last year and this year joined us for a day of motivational talks, food, drinks, Scalextric and shiny awards 🤩
✨ Our CEO, Lindsley Ruth, opened the day, handing over the reigns to accomplished hostess Yewande Akinola MBE FIET HonFREng who shared a keynote and a little excerpt of each winner’s achievements before welcoming them on stage for their time to shine ✨ and listening to stories from the inspirational Nathan Ruttley and Nadja Yang ✨
The depth and breadth of specialisms that these young people are working on is mind-blowing! The diversity of the winners is beautiful and what the future of the industry needs to look like 💛 Their humility and passion to change the world is humbling and comforting 🙏🏽
Five years ago, when I was still at my previous employer, I was invited to join the judging panel for BrightSparks in its inaugural year. I loved it and it firmly put RS Components on my radar as a cool company…and now it’s my awesome team that run this important initiative 🙌🏾 well done Amy Muncer and Sophie Jeffrey for delivering a wonderful celebratory event and a big warm congratulations to our amazing winners 👏🏾🥰
